best way to do that is start a new thread, throw up some photos in it and say "hey I'm new at this but what do you guys think?"

I think most people ignore stuff they don't really go ga-ga over in threads like this one.

arrutled, I counter your crisp, tropical pix with a poorly & hastily shot pix from the first snow after I got my winter beater a few years back...lol:

For reference, it was about a foot of snow on the driveway. At the end of the driveway, it was much deeper (~2.5') because of all the snow the plows left for me. Ah, ground clearance...

^^ Thanks. I had to photoshop my shadow out, but that image is a composite of about 10 pictures using my Tamron 10-24 on my D90.
