Ah dude sorry to hear man!!! I got my VRSF CP in last night, paid for 2-3 day shipping to HI. Install was NOT as easy as everyone says. A bit of a pain to finagle into place, but only took maybe 15 mins. However it was almost impossible to get the CP onto the throttle. It took me an hour in itself and I threw my back out trying to torque it on (I'm only 30 ).

Anyway after an hour of pushing and pulling from all 3 sides of the engine bay, it finally went on. I had to wiggle it for about 5 minutes straight under pressure from different angles until it finally went on all the way. I was literally laying across the engine bay with my feet in the air trying to slip it into place, dripping sweat, and cursing up a storm.

Sounds about right. My VRSF install was not easy. I'm definitely leaving it on there when I sell the car. That uninstall isn't worth it

The issue isn't fitment. The issue is getting the entire CP in there when it's a non flexing aluminum piece.

to be honest, i did a oem CP install, back to stock for a friend, wasnt so hard once you got it at the right angle..

I think the oem CP can survived alot long if some super glue or adhesives is laid around the sensor holder ( Since this seems to be a area we are seeing some common failures at).

Here is the ER chargepipe install on the F10... Slid onto the throttle body with ease.

Seems to be a full one piece CP?

The value seems great with this one since it includes the oem clip and seal. But as always, its all about fit and seal at the throttle body, any experiences?

I got my eye on the ER chargepipe, good price and very solidd company with bmw turbo performance parts for years.

HAHA just because it's aluminium doesn't automatically make it unconditionally better quality

These cars would be rubbish and weigh well over 2 tonne and way more expensive too if BMW made every part that's plastic out of Aluminium. The issue is they didn't quite put enough thickness and/or adhesion in a couple of spots for increased boost levels. I've ran my N54 with upgraded turbos on 17psi for years with the stock charge pipe. Plastic is an excellent material. It's the implementation of that plastic that varies.

Ugh made me sick watching how easy that slid on to the throttle.

Lesson learned

After digging into the F10 chargepipe issues, i have found that the F10 N55 has had 3 versions of chargepipes in its liftime.. The latest and greatest chargepipe do not come with a support hold or mount in the middle of them. Those started in the MY2014 F10 N55's.

Black plastic welder... sets in 10 minutes, 5 minute working time.. Cures in 24 hours.
Wire ties to hold it down while the it sets.

Preventive maintenance. This thing is never coming off lol.

LMFAO the sensor port blew off of my charge pipe over the weekend. My wife called her uncle who is a mechanic and told him I need help because I was gluing (JB Weld) parts of my car back together. Glad to come here and see my idea wasn't too far off, I added the zip tie too lol

Haha classic! I suggust you inform your wife of your car knowledge I got mine convinced that I'm smarted than any mechanic, just so she won't try to go behind my back lol

People also like to think luxury cars are diamonds. They're just cars, they work the same way. Air goes in, add some fuel, a spark, and compression and you have power. In this case it's simply pressurized air, zip tie a glue will get you through!

But I would definitely recommend replacing it with a better one. You'll be running at 95% efficiency until then.

Was also losing my mind trying to get my vrsf CP on to the throttle body...I think it was just the dry o ring and dry metal against metal making it too tough

Rubbed vasoline around the inside of the vrsf CP making sure to cover the o ring and then it magically slid on to the throttle body. Was almost worth the earlier agony for the sweet sweet relief when it finally easily slid right on

Been running my OEM chargepipe for a while now at 14 psi with catless downpies, so far so good.. OEM chargepipe has held up well.

Nice man. Mine blew about 4 weeks after switching to a catless DP.

I am stage two (recently switched to MHD stage 2 after installing ER catless dp) and have not really pushed the car for the fear of destroying my chargepipe. VRSP went on sale yesterday, and I immediately placed an order for one. Only if VRSF would hurry up with their intercooler I would do a stage 2+ and start logging.

First time blogger so if this isn't how to you post, forgive me. I have a 2011 F10 535i mSport. Fully stock. Getting bootmod3 tomorrow and charge pipe next week (when the part comes in).

No issues with stock charge pipe but my mechanic strongly recommended upgrading for long-term reliability.

I personally haven't witnessed any issues with my 535, but a friend with a 435 had his chargepipe blow apart with only 25,000 miles and the only mod was a sport cat downpipe. I know they are different chargepipe designs, but I still think it's a smart idea to replace the stock one with an aluminum aftermarket one for peace of mind.
