dont get me wrong i do love the look of the new 5 but i miss chris bangle.. its lost a bit of its excitement/spark but instead definitely looks more mature now..at some angles it even looks like a blown up e90..hmmm..just what i think..

F10 is slightly bigger with lower fuel consumption?

F10 5er is a bit longer, wider on width and track. It's slightly lowered on ride height with nearly 170lbs heavier in unladen weight. BMW must have done a great deal of optimization in engine to achieve lower fuel consumption?

F10 / E60 528i Automatic
Length: ------ 192.87 / 191.5 inch
Width: -------- 73.23 / 72.7 inch
Heigh: -------- 57.64 / 57.8 inch
Wheelbase: - 116.85 / 113.7 inch
Track Front: -- 62.99 / 61.3 inch
Track Rear: --- 64.02 / 62.3 inch
Weight: -------- 3740 / 3571 lbs

The new 8 speed transmission may have something to do with that too.

as someone previously stated the e60 looked like something. now that i think about it,given the similarities with the 3 series, i think it would feel odd to look at a 550i badge on this cars. it would be like looking at a 350i badge. dont get me wrong i like the car but it doesnt look as refined as the e60 550i, that car looked like an imponent car and this doesnt

Those side mirrors :-(

I think I pretty much love everything.... except the side mirrors. Why so square? Why the black underside?

Body colored with some contour found in many renderings would have just nailed it, and the mirrors would just blend right in. Right now they kind of stick out like my cousins ears used to before he had them clipped. Maybe BMW will clip them in a 2013/14 refresh :-)

However, I still love it and will likely buy but I'm a bit surprised those babies got the go ahead in the final analysis.

Oh well, gotta have something to bi*** about. I envision myself giving the driver's side mirror a little tap after I shut the door, with a little... "it's alright, can't be perfect now little one, I still love you." sort of look.

Haha

This design is so hideous. The front lights are a disaster, and the rear trunk of the car is so small with such generic taillights (looks some what like infinity-sad-). The horizontal line on the front hood looks sooooooooooooo ugly. From the side, cars front protrudes out like a Lancer.

Buying this car will portray as if a person did not have enough money to buy the 7-series. This car has nothing unique of its own. SAD.....................very unthoughtful and disappointing design.

Thank god I am not a BMW fanatic, because then even a donkey with a BMW badge on it would look good to me. ---LOL--- THIS CAR REMINDS ME OFF A MEDIUM SIZED PIG.

I am just a person who started liking BMW because of the current 5-series, so I owned one with lower sus an sports package. I always thought that the current 5-series would look amazing with bigger grills, so the bigger front grills on the new model is the only thing I like. I was thinking of buying the new 5-series, don't think it is going to happen any more.

I would rather go with an AUDI, BUT I will definitely miss the ultimate driving experience.

**E60** is and will always be something special to SOME people.
Bangle was a great thing that happened to BMW, but he forgot that change takes some time, and it is not something that is possible in the land of fanatics. If it would be up to the fanatics, then they would still be riding cart wheels with BMW engine in it.
