Bmw 535xi mud flaps question

Hi, I recently bought a bmw 535xi and i later decided I didnt want the mud flaps that were installed. Although, i tried to take off the flaps by taking off the bolts with a flathead screwdriver, which worked. Yet there was still glue holding them onto the car. I'm not sure what to do? Should i try to pull them off? I dont want to hurt the car though.

I would treat it like debadging. Hair dryer to warm, dental floss to cut it away, 3M adhesive remover to clean, then wax.

Search for de- badging articles if you want other variations or video.
