M5 exhaust

Does anyone know if an f10 m5 exhaust will fit a f10 550 without any custom work?

OK, so the typical answer is yes it will fit and will have minimum work although some work is required. There are a few threads with details.

My question to those who have done this mod is, will the diffuser need to be cut? (in case of non m sport package, pre lci)

Or,

Can the shop tweak the exhaust hangs (etc) to fit the original diffuser of a 550i.

(I did see a thread where they had a close up of a cut diffuser after a competition package exhaust, but I've see youtube videos of ppl with M5 mufflers without any cuts to the diffuser/rear bumper....so a bit confused)

So i just did this.

and the exhaust will fit but here's what i did and what you need to know.

I purchased a Comp Package Exhaust from the downpipes back.

the exhaust is 3" and the pipes on my 2014 550i is 2.5"

My shop basically cut the exhaust behind the resonators, so i kept my stock resonators, and then welded on vband clamps etc to basically connect the m5 comp package exhaust to the oem 550i resonators.

The comp package exhaust will utilize all the oem 550i hangers etc., but since the pipes come in closer at the back than the 550i exhaust, the oem 550I DIFFUSER will not work. IT can be cut but it won't look right. (see pics below)

I replaced my rear diffuser with an OEM m5 diffuser, however you can buy the m5 bumper adapter on its own, and use any aftermarket diffuser made for a 550i.

Also you'll need the m5 exhaust cross member and bushings and bolts that bolt into the exhaust itself, which makes it so that the m5 exhaust won't drone.

You can buy this stuff at getbmwpartsDOTcom.

Here's some pics

My shop did an amazing job getting everything welded etc.

as you can see the tips don't line up specially after cutting.

with the oem m5 diffuser
