N63 Catch Can install

I just did a write up on installing catch cans on the N63 (will work on the S63 also) in my X5 and thought this might be of interest here as it should also fit under the hood of the F10's with the non-TU N63's (you may need to adjust the hose length to better accommodate the catch-cans location in the F10). I incorporated one-way vacuum control valves that allows complete elimination of the cheap plastic stock upper CCV lines & check valves that are so prone to failure. I have over 30,000 miles on this setup so far and it is amazing how much oil it catches that sneak past the stock oil/air separators.

Any chance this will work with the TU? Even my updated CCV hose still broke off on one side, They don't sell the piece itself, only as a whole set which is $300+...

Yep, much easier on the TU, just need 2 port catch cans and you will basically have them run inbetween the valve cover connection and the flapper valve. You don't need the vacuum check valve either

If you are under 120K though you are covered by the dealer for the CCV lines, BMW has an extended warranty on the TU CCV lines, they replace the crappy plastic ones with new rubber models. You have to tell the dealer and remind them its covered. If however your updated was the latest with the rubber hose and it still broke then you have nothing to loose by adapting it work with catch-cans

Yeah I went back and forth with BMW on this one and my VIN was ineligible because it already had the updated rubber hoses. I'll look into the catch can. Thanks!
