I have 2011 535i xdrive, no problems yet knock on wood, did spark plugs, coil packs, transmission fluid, Differential fluid ,Break fluid, pads and rotors, air filter, cabin filter..Just stay on top of the maintenance, if you a good DIY you save a lot in stead of going to the stealership, for minor stuff, but mainly for hard jobs trouble shooting and diagnostic find a good mechanic that specializes in BMW. Keep up the search you will do good!

I bought a CPO 2011 535i X-drive and the only problem I had was a failed adaptive headlight (fixed under warranty) and both rear door vapor barriers. Other than that it was all maintenance - oil, brakes, filters. Was at 102k miles when it got totaled in my parking garage. I replaced it with another 2011 f10.

It appears that in August 2013 BMW started using electronic wastegate so if you are planing to mod your car this could be a thing to consider. It appears that 2014 (LCI) or later models (check production date) would be the ones to go for if your budget allows.

My first BMW was 2012 F10 535xi and navigation system was really slow. That has been fixed with LCI. |
