I have a USB in my Glove box, is this not the 6FL ? if not where is the 6FL port ??

to uktivo:
the snap-in adaptor charges the iPhone but connects also to the external antenna (better mobile reception).
The USB cable allows your car to use the iPod function.
BUT if you have also ordered option 6NF then you can do both in the adapter.
I bought a new 5 and thought that buying the blue tooth integration and the USB interface was O.K. I told them I wanted the real iPhone integration.
Guess what: They tell me now I had to buy also option 6NF and this can not be added anymore.
I consider this as a serious mistake and BMW to correct this.
They write on their own web site:

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/nav...roduction.html
Plug and enjoy.
The BMW interface for the Apple iPhone.
It's the kind of innovative forethought you expect from BMW: the Apple is compatible with most BMW models from day one. The communication and music functionalities of the Apple iPhone can easily be operated with the in-vehicle control elements and displays.
All you need besides the Apple iPhone to make a call, listen to music or access your address book in a BMW is the USB/audio interface and a suitable mobile phone preparation with Bluetooth interface. Enjoy your Apple iPhone and your BMW in parallel, for the sheer pleasure of both worlds.

6NF shold be standard if you know your customer has an iPhone!!! Basic Watson!

I ordered the smartphone integration but didn't realize until I just got the car that I need the iphone 4 cradle.
Does anyone know how much it is and if there are better/cheaper options than buying from my dealer?

Iphone 4 integration

Okay, I partially answered my question. I guess on my dealer's website the part (Apple iPhone 3G USB Snap In Adapter for BMW Smart Phone(PN: 84 21 2 158 683)) is $148 .... but I am not sure if this will fit my iphone 4 and I am not sure if there are better prices out there.

Any advice?

I was just checking on the pin-outs of the iPhone connector via

and did not see any connection for an antennae out, so I would guess that you are right that the snap-in adaptor is at best a fanciful charger
