Build thread + reviews!
I have a 2011 535i XDrive, for each mod I will give my personal review+link+installation difficulty *most were installed professional by a shop *. Unfortunately, I was in a rush for most of these installs, therefore, I did not have the proper time to take some quality pictures of these products! I'm going to use some stock photo for viewing purposes.
List of current mods: 1. Purchase here: K&N AirCharger Air Intakes This was by far the easiest thing to install 1/5 for difficulty. I went with the K&N instead of the BMS because the BMS lack the heat shield that provides a barrier between the high-pressure and low-pressure areas that are for exhausting hot air within the engine bay. Also, it looks a lot better in my opinion than the BMS because it's not so bare on the engine bay. Performance wise if you have just this mod by itself you're probably not going to notice any performance gain. However, you can hear the turbo spool significant louder than stock. It's enhanced the overall sounds of the car! I love it. 2. Purchase here: AR 4" Catless Downpipe First of all, shout out to Mikes at Extreme PowerHouse. He really hooked it up on this one. I needed it fast and he delivered. This is probably the best downpipe you can get for your money. The quality of the welds was obviously crafted by a skilled welder. I was really impressed with the overall quality of this product. I was in a pickle between AR, ER, and VRSF. After doing a little research on the forum here's my personal opinion on based on quality and pricing. A shop installed this for me for around $225+tax it took approximately 2 hours. I don't think I would be able to do this at home without the proper lift. The technician did tell me that it was a pretty straightforward installation no fitment issue. (CEL code pop 24 hours after installation if you wants to remove this you need to either buy a VRSF cel delete or get a ECU flash). VRSF was around $300 and it did not provide a flex section. "The flex section help the exhaust system to move which eliminates stress on the different exhaust components" so, in the long run, it's actually better to have this flex section. But if you're on a budget this would not be a bad option. EVOLUTION RACEWERKS (ER)/ AR DESIGN both AR and ER are listed around the same price of ~$500. From some pictures on the forum, I did a quick pictures comparison. I noticed AR had the more superior welding and a cleaning looking product. I got a better deal on the AR, therefore, I went with it. Both products have the same dimension of the inlet and opening. So in term of performance, you would get the same from both. My initial impression is "holy shit is loud" the turbo spool a lot quicker and it much louder when the pedal is down. This is a must do mod!! 3. Purchase here: EVOLUTION RACEWERKS F CHASSIS N55 535 The installation difficulty was 2 out of 5 for this product. This was due to the stupid metal clamps being upside down on the first generation 5 series model. Other than that it would've been straightforward much like the air intake installation. This is also a must do mod along with the catless downpipe. Right away I noticed a huge difference in the throttle respond it felt much quicker right off the bat. 4. CKS Suspension Since I have the XDrive model there was only 2 available option in the market. KW V3 or CKS. After doing research and contacting John (the owner of CKS) I was able to get a set for a phenomenal price. First of CKS provided a tophat which the KW does not. What does this mean? Well during your installation you will have to remove the tophat of the original suspension. Doing so will take significantly longer to install and if you're paying $2600 for a set of Coilover. Why the hell does not come in a complete set. The mechanic who installed this on my car told me it was a pain in the ass to install since I live in the PNW and I drive my car in the winter a lot of the bolts was rusted. I was told that the KW V3 does not go as low as the CKS, something to take into consideration. The installation and adjustment took the 5 hours and cost around $350+Tax. The car now felt a lot more agile and nimble. I always thought the stock suspension did not feel good on corners there was so much body roll on turns and now with the coilover, it almost eliminated most of the body roll. The ride is between comfort/sporty. There's 24 way to adjust your dampening. I'm a lot more confidence in my car now than before. You will not be disappointed, CKS delivered beyond expectation. 5. Muffler delete with 3" quad pipes. Cosmetic mods: 1. Full M5 Bumpers, Fenders, Side skirts, and Rear Diffuser. 2. Vorsteiner VFF-105 20". 3. Color matched deflectors. 4. Carbon fiber mirror caps. 5. M-performance Carbon fiber spoiler. Future plans: 1. Spacers coming for the front wheels. 2. ECU flash + cat cel removed (coming this summer with dyno number) 3. Front lip and side skirts extension 4. Meth injection + Wagner intercooler Last edited by jooobi3; 02-18-2018 at 07:50 PM.. |

Most definitely, come out this Sunday for PNW BMW Meet. Its in Centralia at Noon. I'll be at the pre-meet in Tacoma Krispy Kreme that's leaving at 10am. Search up "PNW BMW Winter Centralia Meet 2018" on Facebook.
Also, where did you get your 3" quad pipes tips? I want to do a muffler delete but I need to get some proper exhaust tips. Also how's the drone on it? |

Update: everything is still solid! Just need to go get the car flash to get rid of the cel. I'm debating between local tuner or the MHD flash option since I'm in the MHD beta testing.
Also, I added a ebay 15mm spacers to the front the car is now flush and clean looking! |

Will do when the weather is a little nicer here.
BTW, since you're from the west side have you heard about DUDMD Tuning? I did my downpipe through them they did a great job but I don't know anything about their tuning. Have you heard any goods about their tuning from customers around the area? |
