Annoying B pillar rattle / Wind noise
So I have started focusing on this annoying B or C pillar rattle that comes when I go over a bump in the road. I am fairly certain that it is the B pillar and that the sound is from the seat belt buckle hitting the column. However, I dont know how to avoid that from happening. I know that this is common if the belt buckle is incorrectly positioned by the B pillar, but mine is positioned just fine.
Could it be some other rattle? annoying once you start noticing stuff like this. We driving at speed, I also notice some wind noise from the rear compartment, almost like a rear window is cracked open just slightly. you guys notice that too? |

I get that when the seat belt is left against the seat, i.e. partially on the seat meeting the pillar at 90 degrees, this is the way the belt goes back after use due to the small space between the pillar and the seat, all what I need to do is make sure it is pushed back between away from the seat, this somehow solves it for me.

I am able to resolve the noise by repositioning the buckle if my wife leaves it loose and dangling. If you are still having trouble, you may be able to use the little slider to assist. otherwise, I bet you can figure something out. Just another one of those little annoyances that unexpectedly crop up when new models are introduced. I bet it's fixed in future years. |

Is this the only rattle/noise that you hear in the F10/F11?
One thing I am annoyed with in my current E60 is that the headrests sometimes have a rattle noise. The rear casing in those headrests is also "cheap", which is strange for such a high-end car. I hope my future F11 will be better in this regard. For those who drive usually in cobblestone roads... How does the car cope with that? Any rattle from plastics/etc? |

I do have another very annoying rattle more like continuous buzz, just above my head, I have sun roof so often I open and close it desperately trying to stop it, but with no avail, I need to also make sure it's is not coming from the DVD bracket on my head rest, but it certainly sound like it's between the A and B pillars, this one really gets to me as you simply cannot ignore it even with music on.

There are 2 noise issues in my F10 : wind noise which is nearly as loud as my 2010 Mailbu so much so that I frequently check my windows to make sure that they are all the way up when I am driving at say 60 MPH , and now most recently I notice a rattle coming somewhere from my cup holders . It sounds almost like a coin is sitting underneath the holder and bouncing when I go over a bumpy road. This issue I will take the car in for. My car has a little over 700 miles on it. |

If I was you I take it back to the Dealer, one great difference between my F10 and my old E60 is the wind noise reduction big reduction, must find a solution with BMW, you should be able to demonstrate this easily to the dealer with another F10, and if you did not change any of the standard BMW equipments like exterior mirror, wipers a fix is your only way out of the dealer, they should check the door alignments, rubber along the doors and windows. one other issue I had with my one was with the passenger airvent, extra noisy compare to my side, it was fix, just in case the noise you think is wind noise is actually coming from the side vent.
