Went back into the shop and was told that I need to drive for 10 miles or so before it resets.

Thought the sensor was plug and play such that once replaced, it doesn’t trigger the warning. Can someone please clarify.

Shop said if the message doesn’t clear, I’d need to bring it back so the system can be reset. Annoyed I may need to return, but want to return with the correct info, so please advise.

Thank you!
Car won't reset itself. You have to hold odometer button on left side of gauge cluster and toggle through. I've posted instructions on bimmerfest but you can also find it on YouTube.

your rotors look almost done, but you still have a pretty good amount of pad surface left. I wouldnt worry about it for another couple hundred miles or so.

Thanks for your post.

I traveled nearly 2k miles after the original photos at the top of this thread, and probably could've gone another 1k miles.

Indy replaced pads and sensor only with no mention of problem with the rotors; although, I didn't inquire.

Brakes work fine with no pulsation. Hopefully the rotors last.

Thanks again.

nice, what pads did you use? did the shop resurface your existing rotors by any chance? I recently had a front brake job done where i replaced everything with zimmerman rotors and Textar OEM pads - very pleased with the results. when it comes to my next brake service, I will be Using Akebono pads. (Zimmerman rotors will go in again; excellent performance to price ratio) in order to offset the weakened power of the ceramic akebono pads, Will be upgrading my brake lines to steel ones for improved pedal feel. I may just go with OEM pads again, but the brake dust on my front rims is atrocious.

OEM pads and sensor were purchased from a dealer.

Not sure if rotors were resurfaced, but work was quick (while I waited) and the rotors don't look like they were resurfaced.

How about the pads?

Thanks!

Rotors for sure. And since you are putting new rotors on, just get a new set of pads while you can.

Otherwise, you will essentially be doing the job twice.

Update:

Rear rotors state 22.4 mm for minimum thickness.

Now need to measure.

What about the front rotor minimum thickness please?
