Price for service loaner 5er
Hi all,
First post on this section of the forum. Former 07 m coupe and 11 z4 owner. Looking to change out my daily for a larger car. Doesn't have to be overly sporty (997 turbo for that). Just reasonably quick, comfortable and roomy. Thinking about a 14 retired service loaner at my local dealer. Lightly optioned. I think around 62 sticker. 8k miles. Don't know what to expect as far as discount. Looked like new 14s had around 7k off at same dealer. Interested on your thoughts about what price I should target....thanks! |

It's hard to tell without knowing which model (528/535/550) and the options on the car.
Kbb.com is one place to start. For reference, my 2014 535i was 9% under MSRP after incentives brand new ordered from the factory, so hopefully you could cut a deal close to 20% under MSRP (wild guess without knowing the specifics and the competition in your area). |

Like sonic said more info is needed. But, to help you gauge a discount I got a 2014 535ix with luxury and a few other minor options at 11.9% off MSRP no miles (well ten actually). You should be able to do much better.

In 2012, after a lot of hard bargaining, I got a well-optioned 2012 535i Xdrive with 133km on it. It was a used car. First owner lost his licence (age) and returned the car after 2 weeks. I paid 16% under list which to me was exceptional. A used loaner should get at least 15%+ less. In the old days, for loaners or 'executive' cars, I used to take off a $1 for every mile but you can do much better today.
Good luck.

Don't buy a service loaner unless you get at least 25% off msrp,I say try and find a new 2014 on the lot somewhere for 15% now that the 15s are out

With deals like these going on for new vehicles, I wouldn't touch that loaner. My buddy bought a former service loaner and it had 8K miles on it. His cars sticker was $63K and he got it for $52K but it did have a set of M wheels worth about $4.5K. My take on loaner cars is...buying a loaner car, is like marrying a former hooker. You know its had miles and a lot of different drivers/riders. The history will always be there. |
