m sport rear bumber! please help

Hi guys,

So I have a 2013 528I pre LCI non M sport with premium and tech package which including comfort access. If I want to convert to m sport rear bumper (assuming I just use the m sport diffuser that come with the bumper, not quad exaust system, just normal diffuser for 528 m sport), then do I need any extra part to make the comfort access works? I thought I read somewhere that people need some brackets to hold the comfort access sensor?

Thanks

Update: please see photo. Is that all I need to make it works (comfort access with m sport bumper)

You mean youtube video? Or video up here? I thought I remember there is an extra bracket needed to hold the comfort access sensors. Or that is only the case if you do M5 diffuser?

Thanks

So you have an SE and are changing to an M Sport rear bumper? As far as I am aware the bumpers are different and you will need the apron and diffuser. Not just the diffuser and yes you will need the relevant mounting bracket for the comfort access which I am assuming is the boot release via foot sensor?

What SE stands for? And is the bracket you are talking about in the photo I attached? And yes it is the trunk release function by moving your foot under the car.

Jason,
Have a look at these two threads about the Smart Opener for F10. You will see the great DIY instructions where all necessary parts are listed and pictured.

In Europe it's called a Sports Executive.

That picture is the complete backend for an M Sport Rear Conversion and unless the link you are purchasing this item from specifically mentions the brackets required, I would say check the threads mentioned above, but definitely contact your dealership for info and to avoid waiting times on parts etc. Some parts could be cheaper than you expect.

Is that an OEM bumper or aftermarket?

I just looked at the link, I think you misunderstood me lol. I already have that, it's in my comfort access package. I actually want to do the rear m sport bumper and wonder if all the parts I need are in the photo attached to my post or I need some extra item to keep my comfort access working

So you said those items in my photo is complete to convert the rear to m sport? I just have a thought in my head that I saw someone wrote there is an extra bracket needed to keep the existing comfort access work. Maybe it's just for m sport with m5 diffuser, I guess

The M5 is different but don't concern yourself with the information regarding M5s. It's a different setup for the bumper/diffuser attachment at the back.

Best thing is to check with your dealer whether your current sensor mount is interchangeable with the M Sport bumper. If it is then you're laughing. If not then just get the sensor bracket from them. It's plastic and should be cheap.

Don't go aftermarket. Source a bumper on eBay or on this forum. There a loads of M Sport Bumpers for sale now as the F10 is becoming pretty common including those that are being broken for parts and salvage.

Trust me.. aftermarket will never quite meet the OEM look and fitment can become a pain as well.

It's actually hard to find the OEM one on eBay or here, which is used of course, with no damage, dent or holes thou. Any well known store like trinity...etc..those are after market. So i guess if i want to go with OEM, the only way is to buy OEM, but that mean there are a bunch of other parts will come along with it

Where are you based? I am in London UK. I have the complete OEM M Sport Rear Bumper.

The 528i you have does it have twin exhaust pipes like the 535d?

SINGLE PIPE on each side?

If so then I have the complete setup if you are interested?

By the way, anyone knows what is the paint color for the OEM diffuser? Is it grey? What is the paint code?

Hey I do have an eBay account

Shipping shouldn't be that expensive.

Try your best to get an OEM setup. The bumpers are more durable in comparison to aftermarket.

You basically have the 520/530d setup we have here.

It's grey. Out of interest. How much is that whole setup going to cost?
