JB4 on 2015 550i

Hey guys I am new here, I just got my 2015. 550i. Can you please answer for me the following 2? i am a rookie when it comes to mods.

1. I got a JB4 and its coming in the mail. How do I clean the codes so they are not readable by the dealer in case they wanted to get them? Is this required or is it true as long The JB4 is unplugged its 100% undetectable.
do I need the PC connection if I just want to run map1, is that the default? Assuming this is the most basic map that give me some additional Hp?)

2. If I don't get the pc connection how do I know the JB4 is properly installed/working? Remember I just got the car so I am not sure how it should behave.

Installation looks very simple but I cant find any info regarding the procedure of clearing to codes or if this is necessary.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Where you located?

1- JB is plug and play right into the MAF on both sides.
2- it is indetectable and does not alter ECU when unplugged
3- when removed it is 100% undetectable
4- no computers required
5- the stage 1 for the 2014+ is adjustable for power. When you open up the devices you can increase boost manually. (Your still new so just drive as is)
6- I own the fastest 550xi in the world. You should hang on everything I say because I know what I'm talking about
7- remove your crappy carbon filters. You will free up air flow. It's actually better for the car. Especially if your doing JB.

P.s I don't have JB tune anymore, I used to have it. I now have a custom ECU tune on my computer (detectable) but more power.

I had the JB tune and hold the record for fastest 550 with JB tune at 11.7. The custom tune for me down to 11.5(some hiccups) car is easily low 11 sec.

Good luck and Pm me with any questions. Also do some reading on forums. Will really help you out.

Thank you so much for fhe information. Yes I have been trying to educate myself but it seems everybody is on a different level doing more complex mods.

So it sounds like the PC connection is worthless for stage 1?
How do people change Maps? Or is this only for stage 2. I'll follow your advice and dont turn the dial for now.

What is your take on the stage 1 running the risk of voiding the warranty? As I mentioned my car only has a few miles and I'd hate to void the 4 yr warranty.

Will not void warranty. (Undetectable)
Just clip it in and drive. It's that easy. Takes me 45 seconds to install lol.

Power increase is noticeable immediately.

Inside each device there is a dial. The dial stock dial setting is set to the 1pm position. It goes all the way to 5pm. I used to drive my car at the 5pm position . Pure awesome!! I did it stock without a full exhaust and I did it with a full exhaust.

USB cable on stage 1 is used to change boost of the map if you want a more aggressive drive.

Hey ARC550 I installed the stage 2 on my 2011 550i, it works great, but when i launch it off a stop and give full gas at like 120km/h i get the "drivetrain malfunction" error msg. when i release the gas the error msg goes away. do you know what could be causing that?

Common issues with the 2011-2013 N63 with the stage 2.
I have a few buddies with 750xi and 550xi and they get same thing... Sometimes it comes on sometimes it doesn't .

I have a 2015 535ix. When you say remove the carbon filters, do you mean from the intake? Also if thats what youre talking about. What type of filter do you recomend. Im not sure if the 550 has the same intake as the 535 but i might as well ask.

Anyaftermarket filters will work IE: K&N
Simply pop open the air box and remove filters and swap out with aftermarket. BAM! With your 535 you will easily gain 10whp-13whpwith filters alone.
Turbo Baby! Love that air!

The marks that the positaps make on your can-bus wires are pretty easy to detect! Of all the piggy-backs the JB4 is the only one leaving physical marks on your car - unless you buy the new OBD-interface.
All tunes - piggy back or flash - will void your warranty IF your dealer find out about it. If you don't want to take the chance of voiding your warranty - then don't tune your car, its really that simple.

Nice, did you notice a difference from them?

Do you know how much he sells them for?

Just got my car back from the CCP, I'm going to put my BMS stage 1 back on and remove the charcoal filters that I've been meaning to do for a while.

Cant really feel 5-10Whp. But for $200-$300 for 10Whp. Ill take it all day. Esspecially for our cars where a CATBACK is 2-3K with NO gains. Dont liston to anyone. Catback is NO gains ahhahahahhaa
