ASS programming

I'm expecting delivery of my 535i next week. I've asked my dealer to set the ASS to remember its last setting before I pick it up, and was told they won't do that until after you've had the car for "a while" so you've gotten used to having to turn it off all the time. Is this for real?

The mod is covered in a 2012 service bulletin: SI B12 15 12. The sib says "At the request of the owner, it is possible to modify this default logic to "Last user mode". Check with the service side of the dealer. Maybe until you actually take delivery of the car, you're not considered the owner. It took my dealer a surprisingly long time to reprogram the ecu, so maybe they don't want to do the work until after delivery.

yep i had this installed on my 2012 535 as well and it took the shop a few attempts to successfully install this

with regards to your dealer's recommendation of waiting a 'while" thats only to ensure you are properly P****d Off with the annoyance of that function before you beg for it to be in essence turned off ... what exactly is considered a 'while' ?? seems like he is trying to shoo you away!
