Youtube no longer works through USB

The youtube app on my iPhone 5S has worked flawlessly via usb till about a month ago. It's like the car suddenly decided it no longer likes to work with the phone. Every time I play a video from youtube app the car will play the video for less than a second then switch to the first song on my iPhone. I had the same problem with spotify and other apps but never with youtube. Has anybody had this issue and figured a way to fix? Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

Has anybody ever been able to get the in car "office" to show email and texts for the iPhone 5s?
