BMW F10 - 550 K&N intake filters!
I met up with Black tonight and purchased some custom made k&N intake filters.
1- the quality is great! 2- simple replacement of the original. Takes less then 5 minutes. 3- instant increase In throttle response and a slight increase in turbo spool/sound. 4- I feel a slight increase in power delivery. feels smoother and quicker. 5- price $450. Worth every penny! 6- I will dyno soon to see if there are any differences . GROUP BUY IS A MUST! |

Do we rally have any other choices? The only intake out for our car is 2K and it has heat soak written all over it. This utilizes what we already have. Filter + intake scoops and your all set.

it sounds crazy but to make it you need stock filters.... K&N filters... cutting out stock filter... putting in K&N filters... then $100 per 16oz heat resistant putty... +my time and there comes price tag of $450.

Why doesn't one of the SoCal 550 guys just go down to the K&N headquarters and show them the filter you want made. They are super cool guys I'm sure they would begin making them for all the people on the east coast so they don't have to spend their car payments on a filter. Also I'm sure badblack has better things to do.

Take your stock filter and tell them to make one just like that but with K&N

Yes just take the car over there and talk to them, show them the stock one and express to them the demand for that filter shape & size built by them. There's nothing to set up just need to cruise by and stop and chat. They always have cool cars out and are willing to shoot the shit.

I know that your on the east coast. I was agreeing with you and telling combat to or any other member in SoCal with 550. I have a 535 with K&N already. I've been down there a few times and everyone is always very friendly so I think they would try and make something happen. I also feel going there would be more beneficial then just calling or emailing them to start building them. Goodluck
