One point i do notice though for everyone, if you get your shocks and springs changed outside of BMW, the installers dont normally send it for inspection. friends from the e90 forum did that. Maybe Kfiend can confirm this as well. but if you change your shocks at bmw, be prepared to part company with your baby for at least 1.5 months. But no problem if only springs. |

meaning your baby will be stuck with the inspection authorities for 1.5 months. you will not be able to drive, unless mlai lends you his 135!
thats what my service advisor told me if my car need to be inspected. |

Your SA is pulling your leg...... Govt inspections don't take that long..... And the 135i is nothing compared to an F10

guys latest update from BMW is they now require the vehicle to be re-inspected by govt if they install the springs. they are saying its a new policy and that they dont want to be "responsible" for unauthorized modifications.
ACS was quoted $4800 for spring only. |

Really? I've just upgraded to AC springs for my 5GT on 28 March by BMW HK. Luckily, the new policy was not in effect. I can feel the ride is much stiffer and better in control when doing the corner. A worthwhile springs!

Also, for all of these springs, the max. drop is only more than one inch or so. It's not slammed to no wheel gap. The cop will never notice. My springs are settled already, still have 2 fingers gap. Big deal for BMW. I kept the stock springs so anything wrong I just swap them back. Dealer won't even know.

Also, the GT only has to swap 2 springs vs. 4 springs for ours. Ksquare is so fortunate that he got a good deal. Spending +$10k for the ACS springs for our F10 is a bit costly IMO.

There goes the dealer option, makes sense in retrospect, they can't compete with the outside on price, and springs swaps r quite labor intensive, so they don't make much money, and now legal responsibility, better they just stick to the 'harder' higher margin stuff.
Too bad for us, one less option, and safer install for not a bad price. |

Jacky, Chiver went with the H&R instead since he didn't wanna bother with the dealer's mandatory govt inspection.

Price seems alright. You plan to get the ACS? Need to pay FRT?

When I initially ordered the acs I was told they did not have stock and it would take one to two months to get. By that time it was likely bmwhk would require a inspection so that why I went with the H&R. Pretty happy with the choice but still deciding whether the drop is too low.

No, it will 6 months(after parts delivery) la.....
Today, received quotation included Minor parts total: $8818. (Excluded Alignment) And there is definitely NO need for Govt inspection.
