HD radios have been available in U.S. specification BMWs for several years. If EU stations are broadcasting in HD, then I would imagine that BMW will offer the radios there too.

HD Radio definitely sounds better than FM.

HD radio or DAB as it is called in Europe is available as an option with the F10 in Europe. We only have test broadcasting here in Sweden so I don't think it's worth it for now.

HD Radio / DAB has been an available, estra-cost option on both sides of the Atlantic for some time. However, BMW recently announced that it would be standard on all US BMWs from the 2011 model year. In other words, it will no longer cost extra at least over here.
