Convenience Package vs Comfort Access

I'm curious about what the opinions of people who have the ZCV convenience package are - is it worth it over CA only? I like CA but I'm not sure that soft close auto doors and a power tailgate are really features I'd need or use much.

Nevertheless, I almost didn't get CA on my first car (seemed useless) and now I love it. I don't want to miss out on a really nice feature that I might like more than I thought.

Thoughts?

I'm with you. Love the CA, don't need soft-close doors and power tailgate.

I got CA, did not take the whole package. From what I understand, CA might be a bit of a "waste" a well. Keyless start is apparently standard now. So all CA gets you is keyless door opening.

Very interesting, are you sure about that? If that's the case then I probably won't get CA at all.

Where did you hear that "keyless start" is standard on the F10? I've not heard that before.

Keyless unlock is clearly a separate Priority One option (322) "Comfort Access keyless entry."

If this is the case, it would be quite annoying. Think about it, without CA you have to get the key fob out and press a button to unlock the car door. Then you get into the car and you don't need the key fob anymore because it has keyless start. So now you have to find a place to put it. To be truly seamless you don't want to have to touch the key at all, just keep it in your pocket or bag the whole time. Sounds like a slick way for BMW to encourage getting CA.

As for soft close doors, they're not a necessity, but can be helpful if you have young kids.

And power tailgate seems like a waste. Must be targeted toward senior citizens. You could make an argument on a minivan or SUV which has a large tailgate.

I debated on this point for a while and ended up getting the convenience package. Probably not worth it but the wife liked it...
