Right side air duct for brakes. top of air duct. Remove wheel, then duct cover from inner fender. I was able to pop it out and change swap it over to the new one. Easy enough once found.

Bump - got code P0072 and dash showed ambient temp of 120 degrees. I replaced the sensor with a brand new one, cleared codes using my obd reader but the CEL continues to appear. Do I need to log a certain number of miles for this to clear?

If you know how to UNLOCK your cluster….see if there is a function for RESET. Since the ambient temp sensor communicates with the cluster/KOMBI…the cluster reset function will start a new baseline for any cluster/KOMBI inputs/output functions. I know this was required back in the E chassis days like if you replaced the fuel level sensors. That was because they sent data to the cluster…and it may be the same way with the ambient temp sensor on these F chassis BMWs

Nothing to lose even if it doesn’t work.
