They just did it on their own in routine service, I didn't know it was an issue so I didn't care as long as they sent the car back home without any error, new filters and oil :P

Second day in the shop, just got this from the SA "BMW got back to us and they want us to do a series of programming and calibrations to your vehicle." Sounds like a spa treatment!

Got the car back today (9/5/13).

The end result of the service is in the attached service report. I do not understand some of the things mentioned in the write-up, but the items which caught my eye are:
SIB 62 0613 applies,
Some CBS inaccuracies persisted so PUMA case #54787308 established.
PUMA case resolution direction to program complete car then to switch to ISID and perform work-around and to initialize ELC Steering.

Before taking my car in, the I-Step data was:
Current: F010-13-03-505
Last: F010-11-03-502
Shipment: F010-11-03-502

Now it is:
Current: F010-13-07-504
Last: F010-13-03-505
Shipment: F010-11-03-502

If any of you can expand on the service write-up, I'd be most grateful!

Thanks!

My car is saying this as well, service due "01/2000". I had a oil change/first service in September, now I get this message. Not sure if it happened immediately after service or not. I am calling my SA on Monday.

I have not had a recurrence of this fault since the proper application of SIBs as listed in the copy of my invoice above.

I had this show up in my car. In for service today and the SA simply went into the service menu and set reasonably far out the operator adjustable service interval. Seems to have done the trick and I could have done it myself. Maybe.

This happened to me in January. Got a call from my SA as soon it happened. They said I just needed an update. No problems since.

That and I have done several times and reappears, that is not an effective solution.

The solution is a configuration settings.

Can you ask your dealer to give you SIB 62-0613 and an update to the latest I-Step?

Dealer told me mine needed a software update to fix the error. While it did fix the "Service since 1/2000" error. I now have been stuck on "Service due in 3100 miles" for almost 1000 miles now..

What do you mean by SIB 62-0613?

It is the numbers of the latest software?

Explain please to tell my dealer.

Thanks.

The latest I-step that I am seeing is 13-11-5XX. Ask your dealer to give you the latest I-step.
