Tyre skit options

One of my tyres are slit (not the side wall though). Is there an inexpensive way to repair this or is the only option to replace the tyre?

Cheapest tyre I'm finding is around £180. Does this seem reasonable?

I had a screw in the center of the tread on a Porsche I owned. In tears I went to get it repaired and because the tyre was almost brand new, and after a lot of deliberation by the guys there, they agreed to repair it.

They used a mushroom plug from the inside which was fine. My point is that this was for a screw (No 8, I guess) hole and not for a slit and as you will be drifting round the nearest roundabout to you in the future, you will always worry about the repair.

I'll get me coat............
