rats eating engine bay insulation foam pad
I was visiting a friend and had to park my car outside for a week. Today I was getting a wash and found some chewing inside engine bay foam.
So far I found no wire damage or anything electrical. I am hoping I can get the piece replaced at a dealer. Last edited by vpatel867; 10-05-2016 at 06:14 AM.. |

My X5 had similar issue. they actually built a nest under the engine covers. I dont know how long its been like that on mine but I only noticed it when i personally changed the oil and removed the engine cover (which you dont really need to do when performing filling oil). Hope it doesnt happen again.

My mechanic told me to put DIAL or Irish Spring soap bars where you park. Apparently it deters them away. Anyone else tried this?
I never really observed if it worked though... |

Porsche dealers have rat deterrents as accessories, a bigger problem with 911’s in London, cars normally left for the week in the same spot for the working week! 911 engine is at a perfect access level and nice and warm at the back of the car.
You lucky they didn't get to the cables, some crazy findings when trying to bullet proof my garage for my classic 635 CSI, so instead of covering my car I leave the hood open so they stand no chance if in to use it as a home. |
