Watch out - Get Wheel Locks

Just a friendly reminder to get wheel locks for whatever wheels you have. just yesterday my wife came out to her car like this (attached pic)

She was shopping in Redlands, CA at a brand new shopping center, Mountain Grove, great area, not in the "hood". She had stock (accord sport) wheels and 4 month old tires. Also this was 2:30 in the afternoon, broad daylight.

The pic shows the high side, the other side was sitting on the ground. Also while jacking they dented the undercarriage and door. I think we would all would freak out if we saw our bimmer sitting on the ground.

No cameras, no fingerprints, two female witnesses who gave description of 2 WMA and white sedan.... that's it.. glad they made note but a lic plate would be nice.

So again get your wheel locks, and unique ones at that. I just ordered some for my car and the wifes car (so far dealer quote is at $2800, Lease so need OEM wheels)

Fun life experiences,
Frank

Even wheel locks aren't completely theft-proof. Check out this brand new 7er at my dealer that got its wheels jacked a couple months ago.

Wheel locks slow them down, but if they really want them, they will get them. There is NOTHING that can completely stop them.

Looks like a "cheap" way to get new wheels! Unless there isn't insurance.

And that would also be insurance fraud. Nice way to insult someone.

Wow crazy... Sick 7er too

And yea the point of the wheel locks is more to get them to pick an easier car instead of mine. nothing is 100%

I've got the AGA wheel lock tool at my work. It can remove any BMW wheel lock (and likely many others) in about 15 seconds per wheel.

Wheel locks are an inconvenience to the individuals that service your vehicle. Not to those that would steal your wheels. Don't waste your money.

How, pray tell, is it fraud if someone steals one's wheels? The ins. co. cuts a check for the cost of new, factory wheels. What one does with the money is up to them. It's not unlike getting a check for a totaled vehicle, buying the car back from them and rebuilding the vehicle.

I only insult those that deserve it. But I don't want to get political.

I think even tho i have BMS wheel locks if someone really wants my wheels, they're going to get them no matter what kind of locks you have on.

Why steal G11/12 wheels? Only fits other G11/12s.

I know, but I assumed the G30 wasn't out at the time of the theft.
