16000 miles and still not used any oil.

First service due in 1000 miles and my 520d has still not used any oil after 16000 miles. Very impressive

550i probably have used 2-3 quarts in .5 quart increments over the 1 year / 10,000 miles I have owned the car. I always leave a quart in my trunk so when the low oil light comes on I add .5 quart.

Same with my car. No oil used at all in 4000 miles.

The first 1200 miles, it drank oil but after break-in, very frugal!

Doesn't matter if it doesn't use oil. Don't keep pushing that car without changing that dirty oil each 10k miles if you own it.

The 535i N55 doesn't have this problem. But for the 550i, is there an explanation of where the oil goes to? Sneaking pass the piston rings or going into your intakes?

My M-Sport just passed 10,000 with no add oil light. Even the electronic dip stick says I'm OK. My 2008 E60 needed a quart after 6,000. This is a lease, so I'll probably just wait until 15,000 for the first change even though my service reminder says 18,000. Will see if my dealer gives me a hard time.

14,500 miles on mine, no oil used. Booked in for an oil service in 3 weeks ready for a nice long drive/holiday.

I can't explain it other then sustained high speed driving. I really don't know where it is going.

Weird. If it's going into the intake, it would be nice if someone makes the oil catch cans for the F10.

Agreed, there has been lots of discussion on the topic but nothing conclusive. Its not that much if a bother for me although a catch-can would be of interest.

Checked my electronic dipstick yesterday and I was down a quarter after 10,000 miles. Think that's pretty good if you buy into the theory that you can go 15,000-18,000 miles between oil changes.
