My "future use" was set to 1, which is an m5 setting. That's probably what made my car act up. I can probably handle 2.75 but the power is pretty good at 2.25.

What does the future use setting do ?

Have you verified that with data logging? Ive found that most people don't even know what detonation sounds like, nor understand the damage it does to an engine.

T min and t max was not set at 1 and all the other settings were different values as well. (T map slew, maf offset, PID) .

Are the values all supposed to be set the same or just the values in the red box (as shown in installation guide below).
Does your box say N63-2?

I've read that the N63-2 boxes were 3.0 default and the older boxes were 2.25

"If you have the current version of the BMS JB Stage 1 tuner for the N63 (G3_V2 board w/latest firmware) the factory default boost setting is already +3.0 (not +2.25). You can go a little higher with race gas mix (say, to +3.5), but the tune at +3.0 is already quite strong."

i have the older one bms that suggests 2.25. So I should have no issues if I bump it up to 3.0?

Email BMS, say your feeling it a bit rough, or something, and they should send you a replacement with the new motherboard (n63-2)

They said they'll upgrade my current one for 75 bucks. Whats new on the upgraded one?

Ive got catless downpipes, badblacks intake and an exhaust. What is the highest i can set the boost over stock without running any race gas?

With all of those mods you should be running a JB4 not a Stage1. I imagine the rough running is from the intake and/or downpipes.

I think thats because there is no more Stage 2, now its the actual JB4
Before they would send you the Stage 2 box instead. I think for 75$ to upgrade to the JB4 will be good because you can run more boost and have more options in case you would like to run race gas

What do you think is a reasonable boost over stock to have if I dont intend on running race gas? Im currently set at 2.25.

It turned out a couple settings on my bms stage 1 were not correct. Stage 1 had me at 2.25 lbs , how much higher can i go without running race gas? Plan on asking terry these questions too but thought I'd hear what you guys have to say as well. Thanks

I have mine set to 3 and I have crap California 91. When I run a race gas blend sometimes I bump it up to 3.5, you will be good on 3.
