Any BMW dealers that are mod friendly?

I went to the dealer to have my car checked out. I have Dinan springs on and they figured out I have a blow right strut and is charging me $1500 to fix it. They said since I'm on aftermarket springs, the warranty is voided. They said they won't fix the strut. Should I try another dealer? or just buy the part myself and get it fixed elsewhere?

They would have to prove that the springs caused it to happen, but sounds like something might have went wrong during install to cause it to happen to blow that soon, or you may just be bad luck. But since its suspension related, its going to be hard to get them to replace it under warranty.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the response. I think I've had the blown strut before I had the lowering springs but didn't notice it. I've hit many potholes which caused me to change the front tires 4 times. I think that added to it. There goes $650 to buy a new strut.

I think the matching warranty only applies to the ECU flash. I'm going to bring my car to a dinan specialist center and get another opinion.

Try another dealer. $1500 is a rip-off.

Take is over to BMW Prestige in Ramsey NJ. They are quite mod-friendly and even installed my H&Rs themselves and said it wouldn't void warranty.

Try JMK

If they wont help you just buy a new strut and put it in, shouldnt be more than a couple hundred.

So I got the car back and they think the reason why I have a blown strut is because the right front is bouncy. I think I need to go to another dealer. It feels fine to me and it was not bouncy at all.
