What's the right patten to use for 2014 x drive F10 535 Xi run flat tire (square tire setup) if I want to against bmw 'a recommendation and do a tire rotation?

Just swap the front tires with the rears. Sometimes people change rear right with front left etc when doing Rotation.

Front right -> Rear left
Front left -> Rear right
Rear right -> Front left
Rear left -> Front right

This is great info.

I was told not to do rear-cross by Discount Tire many years ago with a reasoning that tires should always be rolling on the same direction. (non-directional). I have been doing front to rear rotation every 5K miles for years now.

Might go back to rear-cross after reading this article.

Honestly, I wish I knew the right answer.
I, too have always done front to rear and as I do my own work, it's certainly easier and better than doing nothing.
But now I'm rethinking this, too.
