Info Screen Smudge
FYI: about 6 months ago noticed an elongated ''L'' formed ''smudge'' (grey white) Wider at bottom and reflective (sunlight, backlighting) ENDLESS argument with local BMW agents. Initially their ''experts'' found cause to be ''severe impact'' Knew that was BS and contracted a Professor in engineering to issue a report TOTALLY negating their findings . Still no joy (wanted it replaced)End Jan'12 handed car to their technical division. Second report stated ''microscopic scratch'' caused by ''swiping motion'' caused smudge and stuff you. Had to fork out 2000cad (less a gracious!!! discount of 300cad) to replace. ONLY cleaned screen ever, with microfiber microscope lens cleaning cloth. Numerous incidents reported of similar smudges, fingerprints marks etc So, BMW is fitting a screen that '' should never be touched or cleaned'' - and don't expect one of the most profitable motor car companies to entertain assisting you. Been BM MAD! for 30+ years. Owned all M5's up to E60 (was destroyed by mechanic @ dealership that took it on the road for a ''test drive'') Various 3 series and other 5 series.First time something like this happened and negative attitude of agents is weird to say the least.

Just buy a screen protector like you might have on a smartphone.
