I love the big screen too, but my wallet is too shallow.

How much is your car anyway with all the options?

Sygic/Route66 can download maps to your device and not using 3G Data.....

The good point of Sygic is it is running mostly in offline mode so it won't use up a lot of data (except the first time you download the required map, but well usually you go wifi for this).
And also thanks to offline mode it can still direct you in tall building area/no coverage.

And ethic has speed limit info on the roads, not to mention known speedtraps/speed camera reminder. I just don't see BMW will ever provide that. Route 66 is quite good as well. So in short, 33k for a bigger screen. Wait, my home 55" full led 3D TV is only around 35k

I was really struggle whether to get the NAV for the bigger screen for my new build. And both my service manager and my sales person strongly advised against it.

Reasons:
1) At 33K+17K (HUD. I wouldn't just get NAV without HUD) plus 115% tax, I will be paying for a 110K navigation system for Hong Kong only. Inlcudes only Macau and Hong Kong but not china. China can be installed but will cost another extra! So in terms of resale, that's HKD110K definitely down the drain. My salesperson feels the pain more than I do

2) My service manager told me that BMW HK maps are always at least 2 years behind. And updates will be another HKD3K every year He feels the pain more than I do, too

3) And I find that my Galaxy Note's GPS positioning is way more accurate than the BMW Nav, and showing speed, and speed camera location as well. Let's see BMW beat that! Galaxy Note can receive normal US GPS sats, and also the new Russian system. So way fast! And to pay for worldwide Navigation (I use Sygic), only cost about HKD1200.....
Sorry mlai, I didn't read your post actually because I don't see why you need to consider so many things after spending 1 mil already and with that deep pocket of yours, do you still look at price tags?

Exactly, so mlai should just get the big screen, not for the GPS because I am sure there's more superior GPS system out there compare to the ones in any car. But a car like the 6GC need the 10" screen to justify its existence

No doubt about that. 6GC with small screen is just too common. Large screen will stand out amongst all.

Actually, large screen on the 6GC are still too common. No screen will stand out more

Do you think we can retro-fit the big screen?

Now that you bought this out, mlai will get a 100" LCD in a heart beat.

I actually like the M5 more. But my wallet is too shallow.

No way! My home is too small for anything larger than 55"

If I had the moolah I'd go for an M5 too...I find the 6 series a bit too stately...plus I really love the F10.

Mlai,

I'm sure M5 will be a lot rarer than the 6GC. So far, I've only seen 3, 2 white (not even sure if they are one and the same) and 1 in the BMW showroom hehehe

And I think the M5 is only HK$300K higher than the 650 which is pocket change for you.

Problem is, I already count 5 M5 among people that I know, and another 3 coming..... Actually, counting options, my 650i GC is on par with M5.

don't know anyone with an M5...kinda shows you which income class I'm in hehehe

Well I still think at the end of the day, if you want exclusivity, there will be far more people with the 6GC than the M5. Plus you should be able to use your MS8's on the M5. Not sure if it works with the 6GC. You have an M3 already. Would be cool if you also have the M5.

Actually, it is just the reverse. I can use the MS8 on the 6GC but not on the M5 due to different offsets.

GPS in HK is pretty useless. I would prefer the iphone apps or the dealers unload it and offer cheaper prices.
