My roomy has committed his life to it now. He played the first one for what seemed like forever, now he bought the 2nd one yesterday and played about 6 hours straight. I'm sure I'll find him in the living room in front of the tv for the next two weeks.

Graphics look good.

I thought the first one was junk. And hated the stupid empty lifeless planet sidequests and story was same old same old save the world, blah. Without being biased or a fanboy, Id love to hear an honest opinion from someone who has played both the first and second one.

And I dont have my save games from the first. Does that really matter or should I run through the first one again before playing the second?

the first was good but deffinetly had problems. All that going to empty planets is gone. I have [played ME1 and beat it, but did not have my saved data so I started fresh. It is better if you can import your save game, if not do not hesitate as it is not the end all be all. The game is amazing either way.

As soon as my Borderlands fixation wears off I am grabbing it. I loved the first one and can't wait to start this one!

Ok I picked up the sticks myself last night and played for about 95 minutes. I've got myself a female (hot chicks with guns... so good) and it's pretty fun thus far. I like the RPG/3rd person shooter mix.

You really have to pay attention to the story line or you miss things. Blast. I'm not the most observant.

Keep at it. Pay attention to the story. And one tip. PLAY ALL THE CHARACTERS SIDE QUESTS. They really arn't classified as side quests because they do tie in alot with the characters you have on board and can effect the way the game pans out in the end. Not to mention after completing their quest they get a special ability. Each character you recruit will want to speak to you about a mission/side quest. Make sure to socialize with them first. Also be sure to upgrade your ship, armor, and weapons. They are all detrimental to your success.

Yeah guys I finally beat it a couple days ago. One of the best games I've ever played and I've been gaming since TMNT on the NES....

I did pick up a copy of ME1 for $20, and just ran through the story (<10 hours). Definitely glad I played ME1 first.

I could list the pro's/cons of both, but I'm too lazy. Head over to the ME2 forums on Gamefaqs if you want answers.

Epic game.

Yeah I've been doing all the side quests, and unlocking as many things as I can. Although, I hate how some stuff doesn't sound bad but you still end up getting revenge points for it lol. Do you ever use your ship for battle? I've got all the upgrades for it, or was it just a waste?

Not going to spoil anything but those ship upgrades are going to come in extremely handy in the final battle.

You DEFINITELY need:

1) Thanix cannon
2) Heavy armor
3) Shield

Also make sure you do everyone's loyalty quests before the IFF mission. (As this begins the final stages of the game, and you won't be able to do them once the final events start, without having sacrifice)

Just FYI...

"loyalty" are the only quest you really need to worry about. All the other random sidequests you can complete postgame. (After the final battle you can free roam, do quests, etc...)

Just get all those team members quests done and try to keep everyone as loyal a possible (assuming you want the best ending).
