Bought a JB4 S2 from A 135 owner - Will this work on my 2011 535XI -BOTH HARNESS A

Hey all,

I need some help - I purchased a JB4 Stage 2 with harness A from a forum member hoping to use it on my 2011 535XI M sport. I am getting conflicted info if it is just plug and play or do I have to update firmware etc.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Why would you do that without knowing for sure it was compatible? Seems like a bad gamble. I would just contact BMS for help.

Lol horrible gamble. The seller and I both read somewhere it was good but then found different info. BMS and their tech support Jon have been horrible throughout the process - even though I'm a repeat customer from BMS directly. Thanks for the help. This is not compatible for anyone's future reference. Better to buy directly for your car.

Thanks.

Apparently I can buy posi tabs to connect to the CAN wires and load the f series firmware so it can be functional.

Is this what you did?

Hi, just happened to stumble on your thread and I am a BMS reseller.
The N55 JB4 Stage 2 has different firmware between the E-series and F-series. But the hardware is the same.
So, in your case, you can hook everything up and update the firmware prior starting up the engine.
FYI, I don't recommend to buy a used electronics components as it is hard to detect any damage to it.

Let me know if you need other help.

firmwares are different, contact bms before installing and get the BMS USB cable for firmware upgrade before even installing. good luck!
