Oem M bumper or after market?

Hey guys I recently got a 2012 F10 535i xdrive and I want to get a m front bumper also the rear bumper.
I've seen a lot of aftermarket bumpers online go for like 3 or 4 hundred. But the oem is like 8 hundred plus. What do you guys recommend? Please help me out! Thanks!

There's ducting behind the bumper that also needs to be changed.

There's more to it than just the bumper cover (like the fog/driving lights and mounting brackets). There is a post here somewhere detailing the parts needed.

if your budget allows you to go OEM for 100% fitment/quality. for me i was gonna go OEM until i got a ridiculous deal on a MSPORT rear bumper for $125 tho i had to drive to New Jersey to get it lol not sure where he bought it but most aftermarket bumpers all come from the same manufacturer...at least from reading the forums. Fitment was on point...as far as quality it looked like OEM to me since it was PU. everything snapped into place with no gaps or modifications of any kind. you can see where the rear tail lights look tight and where it butts up against the rear quarter panel it lines up clean. the OEM reflectors i ordered pop into place with no issues. even the diffuser lined up with no issues. here's some pictures!

here it is mocked up before paint just so i get an idea of the fitment

and after i got it painted

if you're going MSPORT i'd recommend getting the MSPORT side skirts as well! such a big difference from the Base Non M skirts!

i had the 3d style carbon fiber side skirt extensions added

painted!

Thanks, got some 303s on the way and want them powder coated. This finish looks really good.

I had aftermarket M-tech bumpers before and they're not as sturdy as the OEM M-Sport bumpers. It bothered me for a really long time. I ended up swapping them out for OEM M-Sport bumpers. Used OEM M-Sport bumpers can be found relatively cheap at local yards. I bought my OEM bumpers and skirts for about $600. Had to touch them up, sand and repaint, but totally worth in my opinion. If you're looking for a new OEM conversion, ECS tuning has the complete conversion kit at a pretty good price. Installation was pretty simple and I believe there are guides on this forum.

maybe the aftermarket bumper you got was really made cheap because i compared my aftermarket to my OEM rear bumper and both felt just as heavy, flexed the same way and both seemed like it was made from the same material.
