BMW Remote App - Newbie Question

Hi all,

I've successfully got a BMW Connected Drive account set up and can now use the BMW Remote app to send map destinations to my car Sat Nav.

However, according to the BMW website, this app should also give me the ability to do other stuff such as check the status of whether my car is locked, and even lock and unlock my car from my phone. My app doesn't seem to have that functionality at all.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,
Jocky

I had the same problem, I uninstalled the app on my iphone and reinstalled it.
Worked.

Limited functionality though, unlock/lock, flash lights, turn on the cold air.

Thanks Balster. I've just tried that and unfortunately it hasn't fixed it for me

Took 24hrs from when I had the nod to having some functionality as Balster lists; and the where have I left it element. Also let's you search online using google through the app and push that to the car for nav; I prefer the concierge service though!

Thanks guys,

As it turns out I had omitted to log on the the web portal and active the remote locking service on my account. Once I'd done that I did then need to delete and re-install the BMW remote app.

All working now though!

Well done - Its not the most intuitive of instructions!! I remember that the link was buried deep in the portal.
I installed the app before activation and like you discovered, the app has to be reinstalled(which is what I had to do).

Takes ages to activate any function on mine. If I was in a car park and lost my car (doh, like I'd do that) and had to use the 'flash lights' function, I'd look like a right tool stood waiting for it to flash.

I would just open the boot from the key fob instead, then leg it to the car toot-sweet in case any scrote nicked something out of the boot.

Bloody technology.

Does this work on business or is it just professional?
