Was thinking of some black & white roundels design caps (68mm) when I get the wheels refurbed ....... to match body colour and in theme with the new gloss black kidney grilles ..

But talking to the Bodyshop bloke today - (car in for new front thanks to an errant positioned log in the Council car park) - they reckon that from 2013, the caps are glued - not clip-in lugs as I assumed ?

Anybody know?

Nope. Clip in. I have already swapped them out twice in my LCI.

Cheers - thought it strange that they would change ..... last time I did it I had the wheels off already, so easy to push out - wondering how easy to get out from the front .... dont want to damage the caps nor the wheels !

I just give them a gentle knock from behind with a screwdriver.

You can easily just push them out with your finger

Yes, as said its easy to pop them out from behind - what I was querying was a tool/technique to PULL them out from in front w/o having to remove the wheel ......

Anything with a suction pad on it - e.g., a valve grinding tool.

didnt work - suspect the type of surface and the fact its domed aint helping maintain a vacuum ...... ho hum ...

On the assumption that both the sucker and wheel cap were thoroughly clean - wet the surface and, whilst pulling, try gently prising the gap apart with a plastic blade. Twin-pack epoxy adhesives usually come with such a thing as a mixing stick.
If that doesn't work, you'll just have to take the wheels off.

Yes, you made a good assumption ... I did try getting a narrow piece of plastic underneath the cap - but no joy ... wheels it is I guess - suspect one of the fronts is out of balance so a good reason to make the effort ..
