Night vision and black grill?

Hello,

Has anybody with night vision changed the chrome grill with a black one?

Because I'm not sure that it's possible?

Guess I have to make a hybrid of both grills.

I ordered 2 new grilles (compatible with night vision) and had them painted. Problem solved.

Did they just paint over the chrome and how is it holding up?

Don't know. I don't have my car yet.

I'm just stockpiling my mod parts.

They completely sanded the chrome.

I also hunted for a black grill for my 550 with night vision but did not find anyone.. so i also think you have to paint it or maybe better to get it foiled!

Painted grills will have rock chips. Remove the chrome from the grills with sand paper and you will have matte black. If the bezels fit, use the performance grills.

Been looking for f10 glossy black grill w/night vision forever...Can't find anywhere... Send several emails to different shops asking if they have it in stock. Waiting for replies...

Bought mine and modded them. There's a post out there where one of the members goes through modding the original M5 grill.

Yes dealer only sells the chrome grills in f10 and then these for the m5. Have to get them painted
