KW V3 ride and 19\" wheels

I\'ve read the reviews on the KW V3 coilovers and feel pretty sold. The only questions i have are 1. How\'s the ride in an urban environment... will i have to constantly go 5mph to avoid scraping the ground? And is the ride so stiff that my wife will be like; wtf. And 2. I\'m putting these rims on my 535i in a few days. Is a 19\" rim too small and the drop too low with the KW\'s?

Thanks!

In regards to the wheel / rim you choose it won't matter because the diameter of the wheel won't change cause you'll have thicker tires rather then thinner tires with 20's or 21's. I have the KW V3 and with the out of the box setting with the damping at #3 you'll have a very comfortable ride actually better then it is with your stock suspension. In regards to the dips. My car is pretty low and I don't have any problems going over steep speed bumps but you'll will have to slow down at them.

OK... That's kind of what I thought... but wanted someone with experience. Mostly looking to rid of the excessive rebound bounces after bumps.

And no worries on slowing down. Just don't want anything silly.

Thanks for the response. Will post pics when stuuf is complete.

I sent you an email about the 3D Design diffuser. Did you get it?

Just saw it. Be in touch soon!

It's carbon fiber right? Any idea how it matches the oem spoiler that's carbon fiber?

Yes it matches perfect wit the carbon fiber performance spoiler.

Here's a few pictures of my car with diffuser and spoiler in carbon fiber.

My car is the one that says The Ultimate Driving Machine on the place

I haven't read all the responses but here are my thoughts on the kw v3.

They are very nice to ride on a daily basis. I have a 20mi commute daily and have never once thought they were harsh or uncomfortable. I also drive up to la often for meetings and down to San Diego as well.

As for the girlfriend or wifey test my better half asked me why my car felt bumpy when driving in sport plus mode with stock suspension compared to the recommended out of the box settings from kw.

My car has the msport package and all the electronically controlled suspension so those components did not work fully. So rather my car drove like a regular 5 series with kw v3 coilovers.

As far as scraping the front I never did that until I got the hamann replica front lip. I lowered my car to the point where you could put an IPhone under the msport bumper. That results in a lowering so that the fender is at the top of a 20" wheel tire sits.

I'm executive summary is that the v3 ride better than the sport plus setting and you get much more responsive handling. Can't go wrong with the kw v3 coilovers.

I hope that helps.

Its great to hear a real world review. Your car looked great with the Hamann lip. I loved mine... until it got destroyed for being too low.

go for a 20" wheel its the best option IMO.. you can sit it till right above ur wheels and its still comfortable for daily use except for bumps here and there but it grips like a mad dog. KW V3s r the way to go.. Gd luck..
