Will it fit? Yet, another post!
Dear all,
I have been following this website for a while as a guest, but I finally decided to create an account! So there goes my first post Here is, yet, another “will it fit?” thread! I was thinking of getting a set of snow tires for the F10 535i Xdrive. I found an excellent set online but they are off a 2005 7series E65. They are BMW OEM BBS Style 94, and they have 8Jx18EH2 written inside them. Google told me they are ET 24. Here is a link to the rims (courtesy of Google again). http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/94 The guy has 235/50R18 tires mounted on them. And I will be buying it with the tires already mounted. My F10 has sports package. 1. Will the RIMS fit the F10? 2. Will the SET (with those tire measurements) will the F10? 3. If I do end up getting the set, what tire pressures do you recommend? Thanks! Last edited by speedometer; 01-06-2015 at 03:51 PM.. Reason: wrong tire size! |

I don't see a reason for the rims not to fit.
The OEM 18" for the F10 are 18x8 ET30, so these, with ET24, will stick out 6mm more than OEM F10 wheels. And that's not a problem. But the tires are pretty big. OEM F10 18" size is 245/45/18, so the 235/55/18 tires has a 5.61% larger diameter, and that's a too much I say.

I don't know if they might rub when turning in the front, and if it's a problem since you've got xdrive.

The size of tires 235/55/18 means the diameter is 1.5" bigger than the large 20" and 21" summer wheels of the F10 forum members. I understand you want to save money because the offered wheel set is at a very attractive price. However these wheels are too big but too narrow, and probably used. Think about the several seasons that you will entrust your drive safety to these wheels from a different car.
I would recommend you not to look at the cheapest, but find some cash for a good winter tires. Considering major impact on car control and winter drive safety, this investment worth it. |

Yes, it's makes a difference, meaning that now they're only 2.14% bigger than OEM size, and shouldn't be a problem.

I'm running 245/50/18s on my 535xi with excellent results. OP - your proposed tire size is not an issue.

Dear remmib & cdmulders,
Thanks for your replies. This is all good news. Especially hearing someone using 245/50/18 with no problem What tire pressure do you recommend? I was thinking 36 front, 38 rear. Thoughts? |

If they're OEM M6 wheels, they're 19x8.5 et12 and 19x9.5 et17. Too aggressive for the f10, especially in the rear.

2011 550i xdrive wheel fitting
remmib, new wheels are 9 et 6 & 9.5 et 28 based on part number. This is for an xdrive currently running 245ZR40 19x9 front & rear. Would going to 245zr40 in the front and 275zr35 on rear work? Don't want to mess up the xdrive. Thanks for your help!
