Cool Mini PC to CCC display

After 6 months of trial, I finally found the perfect PC for my 535i. The Stealth.com LPC-460.

Link to specs: http://www.stealth.com/littlepc_460_mobile.htm
Update: It looks like XENARC is selling the same box for $359 now - https://www.xenarcdirect.com/product...cat=256&page=1

Features:
Built for Mobile, In-Vehicle Computing
Start Up/Shut Down Safety Feature
DC Power Input 10V-26VDC
Powerful Intel Core 2 Duo Processors
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
3D Graphics with 16x9 Capability
Built-in Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0,
1394a Firewire, Audio, Serial, Video
Low Profile Rugged Aluminum Chassis
Slim Slot Loading Optical Drives
Solid State Hard Drives (SSD) optional
Windows 7 & XP Pro Compatible,
*other O/S Options Available

Dimensions:
5.7"(W) x 9.9"(D) x 1.65"(H)
(14.6 x 25 x 4.2 cm)

I turned my car into a mobile office with a rear display (Touch panel) my passengers can use while I am driving. The car has:

CarFi on board: Autonet Mobile
Slingbox
Skype
Google Talk/ Video Chat
Netflix
Windows Media Center
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Office with voice translater
Optical drive to play movies
Voice activation: Google search and video chat.
Safe driving, no physical input. Say "Home Depot" and you're on your way.
900 TV Channels if connected to FiOS.

Windows 7 with 5 input options, including voice:

Google home page, with GoogleTalk chat session:

Logitech Webcam covers both front and rear passengers:

Full internet capability:

Rear seat touch display:

Slingbox works great

Installed Outlook on Stealth today, and activated the Windows 7 Speech recognition.

Everything is working with voice commands i.e. say "Start, Outlook" and you have it hands free. Then you can say "Press Down" to scroll through the messages, "Press Enter" to open them, "Reply" and start dictating, "Send", "Close window", etc.

For anybody who hasn't tried the Windows 7 Speech recognition yet, it just needs to be turned on and configured for the microphone. It is blazing fast and accurate.

The PC goes in under the trunk lid. Takes less than an hour. Cabling depends what you want. You need to run HDMI or RCA cables from the PC to the dashboard. Including taking apart the dash, say you need 6 hours.

Here is the best price on the PC lately:
Retail Price: $799.00
Our price: $359.00 (€290.79)
https://www.xenarcdirect.com/product...cat=256&page=1

You just long press the I-Drive Menu to show the PC.

If you don't want to install the computer, just go HDMI out from your phone, and see it on the CP.

Whatever you see on the phone, you see on the I-Drive Control Panel.

Wow....full points for a job well done! I am guessing you have killer commutes or really, really need to be able to access your PC at all times. I'm not judging btw, just admiring the fact that you needed something and you managed to get it done with quite obvious success.....and may I add, very neatly.

On a side note, that aspect ratio on the CIC screen must annoy you a lot. I know it would have driven me (pun intended) crazy!

Yes, I know it has to be stretched to fit the Control Display. It looks like a widescreen display which is what you get when playing DVD movies. It doesn't bother me.

I also found that there are no video drivers which support the RCA/Composite video on the car display. The CCC input works on 640 x 480, 800 x 600, or else it turns black.

The setup is dual display and it supports both monitors, but you're right they show the same thing. When you hike the resolution, the car can't display.

Any ideas?

No, they are RCA/Component inputs. You need to convert the HDMI out from your phone to that format.

Yes. I use a splitter so I can have either the PC or the phone, like in post #3 above.

Yes. You set the phone to HDMI out and Mirror display so the Control Panel mirrors the phone.

I used the NAV-TV interface so I could toggle the I-Drive from car to PC. Hope this helps: http://navtv.com/userfiles/editor/fi...MW09/BMW09.pdf

Awesome job. Seriously jealous. If I dont want the computer, what would be the easiest way to get the HDMI from my phone to the iDrive screen? How did you wire it for that?

The new Logitech Alert Digital Security Systems are really great and high definition. Here are views from inside the car, from the phone and from the PC.

Would this work with iPhone 5?

I know that the 30 pin to lightning adapter gives issues letting video through.

The setup from phone only requires HDMI out. The Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter will work to the car if it works to a HDMI-TV.
