///M Suspensions for 535i

Hello all,

I noticed that stock F10's have not all the same height, I know that the xdrive ones are more higher than the others.
And I know that the ones which have the M Suspensions are 10mm lower than the "normal" ones.

So I've a question, the difference between the M Suspension and the normal suspension is only the short springs ? Or the shocks are also different ?

And what do you think about replacing only the springs by custom springs (-15mm on the front and -10mm on the rear) on stock shocks ?

Thanks !

ok thanks,

If I set custom springs (-15mm) on stock shocks without changing my shocks it will be fine ? My shocks will not be out of service after 30000km ?

I did some research on the net and I sent an email to Sachs.de (which is the OEM shock abosrbers supplier for BMW)

They sent me a PDF with all references of shocks.

And.... the shocks are the same for a Standard or a M suspension

You can see that in this picture (ST means Standard suspensions and MT means M Suspensions)

Moreover, according to that and what you see on realoem.com, the ones difference between the M Suspensions and the standard are :
- Coils
- Front Stabilizer with bushing
- Rear stabilizer with bushing

For the coils, what I find :

So to install a M chassis on the F10, you need only coils, and stabilizers with corresponding bushings.

^ Doesn't M-Sport have EDC? My BMW technician seems to think so. I have the option to go Sport+ and there is a noticeable difference in handling response when activated.

Hey I'm picking up his thread late, but to clarify,
"M Sport" suspension is the option 704, not the "M" suspension you would get on an M5.
