Alpina F10 B5 spotted in testing

Seen here is the next gen Alpina B5 already in testing. That Alpina already has a F10 5-series to work with shows the close relationship that the Germany manufacturer/tuner continues to have with BMW. This continues a trend of Alpina having access to still-in-development BMWs prior to the model's debut. We most recently saw the Alpina B7 in development prior to its introduction.

I really hope they bring this thing stateside. If it had 500+hp, a unique (and attractive) aero kit, and the 8 speed ZF auto, I'd literally be willing to blow someone at BMWNA to get the car stateside. I don't say that lightly either.

sux to be in this country... really. The e60 M5 was a naturally aspirated V10 and the e60 B5 was a TTV8 from tthe 550i. speedophiles had a choice to get a naturally aspirated tour de force or a sledgehammer of a TTV8 that produced torques that rivalled the stuff out of Affalterbach.

With this car and the new M5, I want to say that the characteristics of the motor are going to be very similar, making it ever so difficult to choose between one or the other.

Thanks- I am not well versed in Alpina, as in the US we see limited versions and they are usually a little less over the top than the EU versions.

Very possible..

As much as I wanna disagree with his posting, I do recall the f01 b7 being tested near ending of test mule.

It's already been mentioned, but to summarize there are two points that give it away as B5: Besides the number plates which represent Algaeu (location of Alpina headquarter) this car also has the typical Alpina exhaust tips which are oval.

Best regards,
south

Nice...!

So on the specs, Alpina B5 and the upcoming M5 will have a similar TT V8 setup. Hmmm, they might be really close in performance except for M5 being more superior in the handling department but the Alpina will have a superior interior.

This might be interesting.

The E60 550i never was a TTV8, are you impaired? Get it right before making claims like "torque that rivals the stuff out of Affalterbach" because 360 lb/ft is lower than last generation AMG models.
