(imported car from Germany) Changing language from DE to ENG?

I'm importing a slightly used LCI model from a German dealer. I have checked the Vin:

L801A Länderausführung Deutschland (National Version Germany)
S879A Bordliteratur deutsch (On-board vehicle literature German)

Is it complicated to change the language that the car was 'born' with?

I need to change it to Danish or English.

Thanks!

If you're Danish I suggest you post this question in the 5 series section of www.autopower.se as importing cars are more common in EU and this Swedish site had lots of threads about this.

Thank you for the heads up, i'll take a look at that forum. I have been looking for a European BMW forum but haven't really found anything that comes close to this great place :S

I imported mine from a BMW AD in Germany and I changed my language in settings to swedish. Don't remember if it had danish. But you can do it yourself by playing around in settings.

It's a little more complicated if the car has navigation and connected drive as these services are country specific. In these cases it has sometimes been proven hard to change the identity of the car as the built in SIM card was hard coded for a specific country.

Thank you the info!
I'll receive my imported car in a weeks time (2014 F11 LCI 530xd), so it will be interesting to see if it's complicated or not. The car has navigation and connected drive.

Hope you will be successful. I read about a Swede that bought a used car from a Swedish dealer that was a direct import from Germany. The car had all the navi and connected drive features but couldn't be set up as a Swedish car and therefore the Swedish connected drive portal couldn't be used. Several features couldn't be activated.

I just learned that if you import a car from Germany to Sweden and you want the connected drive services to work with the Swedish portal you have to send in some forms to BMW and register the car.

Might be the same where you are. Denmark?
