It's NYC (Manhattan), it takes 15min to travel one mile. Stop and go traffic, fighting lights, tourists jay walking, and angry cab drivers.

I put up with this once a month going in for business.

The GGT is calculated using the old EPA test procedure, so the current numbers won't match-up.

It may be true, but it's not scientifically proved. And, if you look at it, the Vikings were running farms on greenland were it's all snow and ice now. There even was forests on greenland back then. So either the clima change naturally to a wider degree than what the eco-freaks worry about now, or the Vikings farted so much it raised the co2 level... I think I'll stick with the first alternative.

The whole concept of an environmental tax on cars is a political one, not based on any sort of environmental science. The logic is that if you can afford to drive a car that uses a lot of fuel, then you can afford to contribute more in taxes.
