I have to say that for me, the M5 has been a perfect DD and the car is the best I have owned. I am starting to look for another DD (possibly F80 M3 or M235i) but will keep the M5 - I don't think I'll ever be able to bring myself to sell it!

Congratulations on the F10 and good luck with your mods! I don't frequent this forum (not having an F10) so it was nice this post was placed on the front page.
Ahh, just noticed that! Neat to interact with owners of all the different series. Sterling gray, FTW!

Yeah, but an m-tech body kit was sorely needed. ;-)

Love the e39 and as strange as the e60 looked, with the right packages it also looked great.

F10 not too shabby neither.

I was going to say more than the cars it shows your quick salary increase to me!! I need to progress quicker as well.

Here's the part number:

You can get that piece for $128 from GetBMWParts.com

Opening these lights is not for the faint of heart, so I was wondering if any forum members have started specializing in this yet.
We specialize in custom headlight customization, have been doing it for nearly 7 years. We've opened dozens of F30 and other "Perma-Sealed" headlights from BMW, but we have never done any work to the F10 headlights.

However, we feel very confident doing it, so if you want to get a quote, shoot me a PM and we'll discuss it further.

Welcome aboard, definitely a nostalgic collection of 5er's you went through. You 5-series whore you. lol

4. Window tint
5. Gloss black M5 rear spoiler (awaiting delivery)
6. H&R sport springs
7. Body kit (leaning M5)
8. 21" wheels (leaning toward AG M510s in gloss gunmetal, but not set in stone)

If only "wife happy, life happy" didn't have direct inverse correlation with the transformation of my ride to come.

I like the color. shows a lot of maturity.
I have two suggestions for you.
1, throw on a M5 bumper, the car will look Great!
2, i see you are in NY, I wouldn't recommend you run 21" wheels. I'd say 19" is a great choice for DD. I am happy with my 19" wheel/non RFT tires and H&R springs

What part of NY? I'm originally from Lake George/Queensbury.

Once you get some more mods done and want to do a photoshoot with my F30, let me know. I'm in Chapel Hill/Durham.

That e38 thou......I searched for one with manual and good miles forever before I got my e90. Reliability concerns was one of my reasons for stopping my search, too bad. My favorite bmw I think. Because James Bond.

Congrats on your new acquisition!

Here's something to think of about wheels.

http://www.adv1wheels.com/blog/inven...-deep-concave/

http://www.adv1wheels.com/blog/inven...0-m5-adv7-mv1/

About the M-Sport steering wheel, it's not just the trim that's different, the wheel is also more thick in size - but that's easy achievable after a re-trimming.

Good luck in modding!

I also had a e39 6mt msport and I loved that car. I moved to a 545 and then to a 550 m-sport w/ sport auto trans. I was a 5 series fanatic. I had a loaner 550 f10 for about a month and I also test drove a ///M5 6mt but unfortunately I could not get over the size the 5 series grew to. I was shocked that my e60 felt smaller than the f10. I actually went the opposite direction and ended up with a ///m3. It was a good read and it brought back memories

drive up to Boston lol, I have a shop can do it for you for half of that.
I like M5 bumper than the M-sport to be honest.
don't you think 21" wheel will be too heavy?

Great report. To me the E60 M-Sport still is one of the best looking vehicles.
Why not M-Sport on the F10?
