Auto Start/Stop on LCI
I just noticed that the Auto Start/Stop override button (located directly below the Start/Stop button) is absent on the 2014 dashboard. I hope this means that BMW finally listened to many of their customers and will now allow the driver to disable the blasted thing through the main menu settings. Anyone heard about this?

I was just playing with the configurator and noticed that the override button is missing only on the 550i models. The mystery continues as my dealer has no answers. Guess I'll find out for sure what the story is in three weeks when my 2014 550i arrives...

I thought it was absent on just the 550i models anyway?
I can't see BMW removing this as this is in to produce good fuel / CO2 figures. As has been mentioned, this can be coded to be off or last setting anyway. |

i know for sure the button is there for 535i but in the configurator it is missing as well. i haven't seen a 550i yet so i can't confirm but even if its there, the dealership told me they can code it so it will stay off until you turn the feature back on so its no big deal

I have an LCI 550i and I can confirm that the button is there below the ignition button. I haven't looked through the menus to see if it's possible to permanently disable.

It's still there and no you cannot turn it off via iDrive. Your Dealer, or someone who can code the car for you, can set it to the last setting whenever the car starts. In other words, if you turn it off, the next time you start the car it will be off.
