I have been trying to set up my iCloud account through the connected drive portal without any success. Did anyone manage to find the appropriate settings? I have tried almost all options (and used the settings from App'e website http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864

So, it's not that difficult to set-up.

Incoming Email server : imap.mail.me.com
Outgoing Email server : smtp.mail.me.com

Check IMAP-SSL

Incoming Port : 993
Outgoing Port : 587

Check SMTP Server Requires Authentication
Check SMTP Server Uses TLS

Make sure you fill in the other fields correctly, and you should be good to go.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but since this is the first result if you google "BMW CONNECTED DRIVE ICLOUD" I thought I would add the following new info:

I was trying to do this for my new car and it kept telling me there was an issue connecting to the server.

It made me remember that Apple implemented the requirement for App-specific passwords a while back. (Basically extra protection for your Apple ID when it's used on non-apple devices which don't support two-step verification. IE: Setting it up in Microsoft Outlook or such.)

Using app-specific passwords - Apple Support

You have to enable two-step verification and then generate a password for use on just the one device - in this case, your BMW.

FYI: Apple make you wait 3 days after "activating" two-step before you can complete the process. You can then go back and generate an App-specific password for use one the BMW website when setting up your mail account.
