Maybe you should give me a huge discount on the 7's and then send them to me super early and with free shipping and I will proclaim to all how awesome Wheeladdicts is.
I am sure Jorge will start quoting all of us 6 months for custom wheels from now on

Marshall what I mean is that all custom wheel companies give an estimated build time. So yes it can be more or less. It is impossible to give an exact date in this industry and that is why not one company guarantees any date.

mlai, same as Lacster I am not surprised to hear your issue. Luigi went through the same thing as you. I thought you expected this. Feel sorry for you bro.

I think the point is being missed here...Marshall was quoted a certain time frame and that time frame was missed. Period.

This is very different from Luigi's order where he was never quoted a specific amount of time. When Luigi ordered his 21's it was the first that had been done and there was nothing to go by. Now I dont quote less than 8-10 weeks for deep concave 21's. There is simply not enough forgings too fulfill all orders so delays occur.

Every order is different. For example this (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=562757) order went out within the 4-6 week time frame as have many other orders...

I am not taking sides in this ordeal, but I will chime in with my unbiased opinion based on my experience purchasing a set of custom Forged 1 wheels from Jorge at WheelAddicts.

I ordered a set of 21" Forged 1 custom wheels and requested them to be made specifically to the specs I desired. When I initially inquired, Jorge took about a month to allocate the 21" forgings before we even spoke about a deposit. Once the forgings were allocated, he said these forgings would take longer to make than the more common 20",19" or 22" forgings due to the scarcity of the 21" forging, he also said it would take 10-12 weeks minimum. There was no other wheel design that called my name like the 7 Mesh so I said "what the heck" pulled the trigger and made a deposit.

In the end I waited about 15 weeks. Yes, It took few weeks longer and even though I was ready to fly to Miami and grab Jorge by the neck he did clarify from the beginning that he couldn't guarantee the wheels to be ready by a certain date. He'd rather tell me the truth than disappoint me with unkept promises, and that was precisely what he did throughout the whole process until delivery.

From all the custom forged wheels I've bought in the past for my other cars, I have yet to have a company deliver by the date they initially target. I don't know if it just my bad luck or the guys at the wheel company just plain and simple don't like me. But from past experiences, now every time I order or plan to order a set of custom wheels, I already know in my mind that it will take longer than what they tell me it will. Since that is the case, all I ask from whoever I am buying the wheels is that they be honest, sincere and direct with me and not to "sugar coat" the answer to any question or concern I have.

My experience with Jorge, as I have stated on other threads was exemplary customer service. Phone calls were answered promptly and if not answered they were returned within a few hours or less. Emails were responded to within 24 hours (although almost within the hour) and if they weren't I'm pretty sure something serious or out of the normal was going on with Jorge.

I vouch for Jorge 100% as he's taken care of me even after the sale with the same customer service as if he was trying to make a brand new sale.

MLai, I do feel your pain though, as I was in your shoes and played the waiting game as well, but you are already so close to the finish line. Don't stress, get your tracking number from Jorge, sit back, relax, take a chill pill and you'll be breaking necks in HK in no time.

Lugi,
Situation was slightly different. In my case, Jorge gave me an initial ship date of July 11, and I fully understand it was not held. The wheels were in stock but needs to be refinished. On July 11, I asked again on his confidence on when the wheels will be shipped out. And he gave me 50% chance on July 11, 75% chance on July 12, and 100% chance by July 13. That's pretty firm to me.

I understand it is not completely Jorge's fault at all. Just the whole process including Forged1. I even checked with Forged1 direct on July 11 and got an assurance that the wheels will be done either July 12 or July 13. In the mean time, I was also promised pictures of the wheels in progress. And Jorge simply said Forged1 didn't inform him of any delays even on July 12 and I quote he has "no reaons to belive they won't be done tomorrow (July 13)".

Guess what happens on July 13. No wheels. On July 14, Jorge said even if the wheels are not shipped that day, the wheels will still get to me by the week after, which was week of July 21.

Comes July 15. Turns out the wheels were still in Forged1's oven. All these time Forged1 knew they will not make delivery date and didn't inform anyone even when I asked. And obviously, Jorge, who said they are close to him and can go down and check personally, didn't bother checking either.

Wheels finally done on July 20th. and shipping was also delayed. That's another story.

The issue here is not so much just about the delays. It is about communication with their customers and managing customers' expectations. It is not a disaster to inform your customer about delays ahead of time. It is however a terrible thing to do when you let the target date slip without any idea about what is causing the delay and how long the delay is going to be. Again, it is communicating to customers so that everybody is on the same page that counts.

What frustrates me is the following (again, not completely Jorge's fault):

1) Forged1 didn't have a sense of how long the refinish going to take.
2) Forged1 didn't bother telling Jorge or myself (I was in communication with them) even on the day before the original ready to ship date, that the wheels will be delayed. In fact, Forged1 reinforced the July 13th ready date even knowing full well (at that stage at least) that the wheels won't be done by then.
3) Jorge promised checking personally multiple times, even mentioned going there physically if needed. And if he had done that, he would have notice that the wheels were not close to finish on July 13.

Again. This is about communicating and properly managing everyone's expectation and keeping everybody in the loop. Promises included physically checking, sending pictures. Don't say one thing and when it really counts on action, give us the lines that sorry, too busy. You are just one order.

I do have another set of wheels in the making. And although that set is also delayed, the other dealer had the decency to inform me way ahead of time of the delay (instead of waiting and not delivering on tgt date) and I am willing to wait.

I guess I am more frustrated by uninformed delays after uninformed delays and makes me feel that nobody has a sense of what's going on. And I wonder if Forged1 actually knows what needs to be done to achieve my finish, and planned ahead, or did they simply did it trial by error. And I wished Jorge would have taken a more proactive approach in tracking the order, and informing me about delays AHEAD OF THE DUE DATE, instead of having me breathing down his neck.

It shouldn't take long if it's on the way by DHL, maybe 4 to 5 business days!

They probably had the forgings on hand when you placed the order or because you are local to them they helped you out. Nothing new there local customers always tend to get faster service from companies
