Unhappy See you guys around the campfire...

After 10 years of driving bimmers, I'm stepping away for awhile. Pic of the old girl and the new rumbler below. After a week of driving the new Jeep, I can report that performance and handling between the two are slightly different... Anyway, it's not goodbye, it's so long for awhile.

I know, weird isn't it..?

Jeep = Boing!
Jeep + 2.5" lift = Boing, Boing, Squirm!!
Jeep + 2.5" lift + 35" LT tires = Boing, Boing, Squirm, Dart, Flounce!!!

Quite a jump, what made you go for a Jeep?

Yeah, I know. I was just getting the itch to go back to a truck/jeep. I've jumped back into the MTB scene (just bought a Specialized Camber FSR Comp 29er) and needed a way to haul it around that didn't involve sticking the frame in the back seat on a blanket and the wheels and seatpost in the trunk - no fold-down seat in my old 550, and I had no interest in putting on a roof rack or hanging a rack off the trunk.

Was just looking for a change...and I got one...

Agree with you, even if the seat did fold down, you still suffer with the 5, it is a car for passengers only by fare not the gear you have.

Well said. Wish I could have kept them both. Once my kids are outta college, 2-3 more years hopefully, I'm thinking I may pick up a non daily driver BMW just for fun and to scratch the BMW itch I know I'm going to develop - maybe an E21 or a 2002. We'll see...

As a bonus to the community at large, I'll be posting up a sweet set of winter tires/wheels for sale this weekend - Blizzak LM60s mounted on OEM 332 19" staggered wheels!

I had the same dilemma years ago. Since I've been mtb'ing for over 15 years it was tough going from a SUV to a 5-series. I ended up with a 5-GT so I'm still able to toss the Ibis in the back with only the front wheel off but then you run the risk of scratching the bumper, which I've done and getting dirt and mud all over the nice interior, which I've also done.

Ah, man. I would have kept the F10, jacked it up, and put those Jeep wheels on it
Come back soon.
