Navigation 2014 update
I was in the dealer yesterday and noticed the update for the new nav.
I currently have a 2013 version and wondered is it worth the £160 to update and what really will it give me extra? Thanks in advance |

You can get the update much cheaper online - buy the DVDs from the dealer and get a code from an online vendor.
When you update you probably won't notice a single difference. I didn't. My road - 5 years old - still isn't on the map.

Copy them onto a USB drive and plug it in your central console, type your code and you should be updated.... all this for less than £50.

You can get this fixed very easily if you want.
First check Google maps to see if your road is on their. If not, use the "report a problem" and tell them about it. Normally within a few weeks, they will update the map. Then check the NavTec website "mastermap" to see it has been updated. Only when those 2 maps have your street on will BMW then add it to an update DVD. It might still take over a year to reach your car but at least it starts the ball rolling. |

Thanks.
Google Maps is correct (I reported the change), but the Navteq "Here" maps show me what my car does. I reported the change to them too. Now to hold my breath for a year ;-)
