Navigation 2014 update

I was in the dealer yesterday and noticed the update for the new nav.

I currently have a 2013 version and wondered is it worth the £160 to update and what really will it give me extra?

Thanks in advance

You can get the update much cheaper online - buy the DVDs from the dealer and get a code from an online vendor.

When you update you probably won't notice a single difference. I didn't.

My road - 5 years old - still isn't on the map.

Don't even need to buy the DVD from the dealer. If you buy the FSC code online, the same person will also give you a link to download the maps.
Copy them onto a USB drive and plug it in your central console, type your code and you should be updated.... all this for less than £50.

You can get this fixed very easily if you want.

First check Google maps to see if your road is on their. If not, use the "report a problem" and tell them about it.

Normally within a few weeks, they will update the map. Then check the NavTec website "mastermap" to see it has been updated.

Only when those 2 maps have your street on will BMW then add it to an update DVD. It might still take over a year to reach your car but at least it starts the ball rolling.

Thanks.

Google Maps is correct (I reported the change), but the Navteq "Here" maps show me what my car does.

I reported the change to them too. Now to hold my breath for a year ;-)

Sure - I was just trying to suggest a more 'legit' method

The DVDs are cheap, £30 the last set cost me I think.

Thanks all for help and advice. Does anyone have a link for a reputable online supplier?
